I am attorney Sean Patrick Cox. Since 1994, my law firm has concentrated on issues that affect families, including elder law, bankruptcy and family law. We serve clients and their families in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and the surrounding communities, as well as throughout Florida.
Inspired to Help Others
My father was a veteran. After he suffered a devastating stroke, my family went through the frustrating process of trying to obtain Veterans Administration (VA) benefits for his medical treatment. We also had to secure Medicaid so that he could live in a nursing home that could provide him with the appropriate care. We endured the nightmare of moving him from one hospital to another, and one nursing home to another, searching for the right place to care for my father. Eventually, an empathetic attorney helped us.
That lawyer made a big difference in my life. In fact, he inspired me to help individuals and families through my legal career. While I view all my cases as opportunities to assist people, a large part of my practice involves pursuing and obtaining benefits for veterans and helping people navigate through the Medicaid process, so they don't have to worry about losing everything they have earned to a nursing home. Further, I am accredited by the Veterans Administration (VA) as an attorney approved to represent veterans and their loved ones seeking benefits.
